En el día nacional del Síndrome del Intestino Irritable queremos desmontar los bulos que circulan por la red respecto a esta patología crónica que afecta entre el 6 y el 8% de la población, y sobre todoa mujeres de entre 20 y 40 años.

Son datos del Grupo Español de Motilidad Digestiva (GEMD) que, junto a #FFPaciente, conmemoran el Día Nacional del Síndrome del Intestino Irritable que se celebra el 21 de octubre; además, recuerdan la importancia de consultar con el especialista y no creer en las falsas creencias que circulan por Internet sobre este trastorno. La iniciativa ha contado con la colaboración de #SaludsinBulos y los Laboratorios Norgine.

Qué es el Síndrome del Intestino Irritable 255r73

El Síndrome del Intestino Irritable es un trastorno funcional crónico del tubo digestivo muy frecuente en la población. Es una enfermedad que altera la calidad de vida y que afecta a las relaciones sociales, físicas y familiares. Sobre todo la fatiga y el factor psicológico influyen en la capacidad de los pacientes para estar productivos en el trabajo.

Se suele asociar con hinchazón, dolor y molestia abdominal, alteraciones en el hábito deposicional que varía desde el estreñimiento a la diarrea. No afecta a la probabilidad de padecer cáncer ni acortar la vida, pero sí puede tener un impacto bastante significativo en la calidad de vida de quienes lo padecen.
